MCCC Chinese New Year party

Hello Friends, Parents and Guests:

The MCCC Chinese New Year Celebration party on Feb 13^th is just days away. In order for everyone to have enjoyable night we would like to ask all of your help ensuring the following party guidelines are adhered to :

Please arrive at least 15 minutes earlier to allow adequate time for registration if you have not picked up your tickets.
Children under 6 years old must be supervised by adults at all times, staying with the parents or designated guardians.
No foods or drinks are allowed in the theater. No drinks with alcohol content are allowed in the facility at anytime
Please do not touch any equipment on the stage or backstage
No running around at any time please.
When the program is in session, please ensure no running, walking, chatting, or standing in the hallway.
Videotaping or picture taking can only be done from the seat.

For the afternoon performance by our MMCS students, each teacher please make sure you have enough volunteering parents to help you maintain the order of the class. The front seats will be reserved for our performing students and teachers and other guests. Please respect the signs and do not take the reserved seats.

Great performance of Milwaukee Youth Chinese Music Ensemble

Our Milwaukee Youth Chinese Music Ensemble had a great performance yesterday at the Marcus Performing Art Center to celebrate Martin Luther King's Birthday. There were 25 girls and boys of our ensemble on the stage.

MMCS/MCCC Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund
Dear parents and students,

MMCS and MCCC is setting up a Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund to support the efforts in rescuing the devastated victims and rebuilding the country. We will have a donation box close to the spring semester registration table in room 198 tomorrow and next few weeks. Please indicate specifically for Haiti Earthquake Relief on the check if you give check donation.

Remember, no gift is too small or too big, please let us show the world that we care.

2010 Spring registration is ready
We will start 2010 Spring semester registration (http://www.mmcsweb.com/) this coming Sunday (12/20/2009) through (01/17/2010). You can either drop your payment in room 198 or send by mail (http://www.mmcsweb.com/cms/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=3) within this period, and receive $10 refund (per family).

Learning through Play

Dear Parents and Students,

In order to promote the awareness and interest of Chinese Language and Chinese Culture among students, our school has scheduled a school wide event “Learning through Play” on Oct. 4. This event will be held during regular Chinese class hours from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm. The following activities may be included:

1.      Activities related with Chinese Language: riddles, games (50 min)

Samples:  ��ٲ��ֶ��; jeopardy.

2.      Chinese Culture trivia (20 min)

Samples: �й��ȫ��ʲô (What's the full name of P. R. China)?

                ��ô�ƺ��ְֵ��û��ĸ�� (What do you call father's sister or mother's brother)?

3.       Chinese Folk Art DVD (30 min)

Samples: �Ӽ� (Acrobatics);

              ƤӰϷ (Chinese Leather Silhouette Show)

4.      Prize Time: Teacher will issue each student prizes at the end of this event.
